| Our media center is a place for teachers and their classes to use our computer lab for research and projects. Small groups with passes come and go all day long. |

Students who visit the media center during school hours must have a pass. Students may borrow up to two books at a time and keep them for a period of two weeks each. The due date is stamped in the back of the book. For each school day the book is late or overdue, a fine of 5 cents will be charged to the student’s account. Students will be held financially responsible for lost books. Books may be returned to the circulation desk drop box located inside the media center. Our OPAC catalog is now available at home! | SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE MEDIA CENTER | |||||
| Barnes and Nobles Book Fair is held at the South Orange Blossom Trail store across from the Florida Mall to provide additional opportunities for students to find great books. 2008-2009 Book Fair Dates: To be announced. The Sunshine State Young Reader’s Award Program (SSYRA) Students who read at least three books on the 2008-2009 Sunshine State Young Reader’s Award list by March 2, 2009 will be eligible to vote for their favorite book. The media specialist will make arrangements with the Orange County election officials to provide ballots and a tabulating machine for Memorial Middle School on the SSYRA voting day in April 2009. Participating students will cast their votes on the actual ballots used by voters in primary and general elections.The statewide winning title in 2008 was Lightening by Rick Riordan. |

| Students who plan to read 10 or more of the SSYRA titles by March 2, 2009 should see the media specialist in August to register for the incentive program. Eligible students who read the SSYRA titles can be invited to an Ice Cream Sundae party in April. Interested students must sign up, take and pass AR quizzes on the designated SSYRA computer in the media center to be eligible. No other assessment will be accepted for this purpose. MMM students are encouraged to read 2008-2009 Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books. | |||||

The MMM media center is the information site for students, teachers, and parents. We are open from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm daily. The media center staff welcomes parents to visit. Parents are encouraged to consult the media specialist if they have any questions or concerns about the reading habits of their children. |
